The Leaves of Grass Beer Reviews

Eighteen months, many six packs, and one pandemic later, “The Distillation Would Intoxicate Me Also”—a series of seven beer + poem reviews—is complete. The last review, “‘Spontaneous Me.’ the Beer,” appeared in January of 2021. I’m thankful to the Kenyon Review Online for the opportunity to drink, read, and write, and to Bell’s Brewery, who thought—way back in May of 2019—to celebrate Walt Whitman’s Bicentennial with seven beers brewed in honor of seven poems from Leaves of Grass.
