The Hopwood Poets Revisited Now Available

I’m pretty jazzed to see myself in a table of contents that includes the likes of Frank O’Hara, Robert Hayden, Lawrence Joseph, Jane Kenyon, Laura Kasischke, and Rosmarie Waldrop, but that’s part of the magic of the Hopwood Awards. In my essay “Luck, Lit, & Gutter Spouts,” now available in The Hopwood Poets Revisited: Eighteen Major Award Winners (Library Partners Press), I reflect in the role the Hopwood Awards have played in my development as a poet, and what I think literary awards can (and should) do more generally.
